JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION:
Item Processing Clerk and Data Processing Support

Status:
Full-Time/Non-Exempt

JOB SUMMARY:
This individual will operate an NCR Transport, prepare daily cash letter, pick up items at main office and branches as needed, print customer statements, and complete end-of-day processing. He/she will also support the IT department in what the IT officer deems acceptable.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Operates an NCR Transport for volume item processing counter work.
    1. Prepares machine for operation
    2. Loads machine with required items for processing.
    3. Uses 4/Sight system to key amounts, repair items and balance batches through workflow monitor on a PC.
    4. Makes customer and teller adjustments and copies of these adjustments.
    5. Notifies customers and tellers of any discrepancies.
  • Prepare daily cash letters. Provide for proper maintenance of item processing equipment. Place service repair call when needed and order supplies.
  • Pick up items to be processed at main office, drive through and branches as needed.
  • Research missing and incorrect items and make copies to settle with correspondents.
  • Print customer statements.
  • Complete end-of-day processing.
  • Create and update documentation for procedures and processes done in the item processing department.
  • Order printer supplies for the company– encoder ribbons, print cartridges, fax cartridges.
  • Obtain quotes/prices from various vendors.
  • Test new item processing procedures.
  • Call technical support for processing, backup and Federal Reserve issues and problems.
  • Reset passwords for bank employees.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience:
Required: Must have a valid driver’s license. Must possess a general knowledge of PCs and use of a keyboard and mouse.

Preferred: Familiarity with ten-key numeric pad, item processing and item processing transport. Experience with specific bank software and networking used in a financial institution helpful.

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Must possess the ability to interact positively with customers and bank associates at all levels and maintain the confidentiality of customer information.

ADA REQUIREMENTS:
Environment is subject to noise and frequent distractions. Requires standing and walking for up to 15% of the time worked. Must have the ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 30 pounds on occasion. No discomfort due to dust, temperature, etc.

Full-Time – 40 hours per week
Monday – Thursday: 10:00 a.m. to approximately 7:00 p.m.
Friday and day following holidays: 11:00 a.m. to approximately 8:30 p.m.
